A yellow warning for the afternoon hours has been extended through Wednesday due to high temperatures in the interior of the island expected to reach 40 degrees, while the coast remains in the mid-30’s.
A warm air front continues to affect Cyprus, with weather officials issuing another yellow warning for Wednesdayday afternoon, from 12 noon until 4pm, citing “extreme high temperature” expected to rise to around 40° degrees Celsius inland.
Wind advisory for southwest
Wednesday skies will be mostly clear throughout the day while increasing clouds will appear on and off in the northeast and out west. After noon time, there will be more increasing clouds with a chance of local showers and possibly isolated storms, most likely in the mountains and somewhat less likely inland, while late afternoon winds are expected to be very strong along the southwestern coastline.
Thursday through Saturday weather will be mostly clear in the early parts of the day with increasing clouds around noon and in the afternoon and chances of local showers and isolated thunderstorms in the mountains. Rain in the interior is also likely on Thursday but chances remain low.
