Weather takes sudden turn

A low pressure system is once again affecting areas over Cyprus, increasing the chances of local showers and even thunderstorms.

Wednesday skies will be partly cloudy throughout the day while during afternoon hours weather will turn mostly cloudy with chances of local showers and isolated thunderstorms.

The sea will be relatively calm at first and then waters will be choppy, along with moderate to strong winds.

Maximum high temperatures will reach 20° Celsius inland as well as in the coastal areas. Evening weather is expected to remain mostly cloudy, while with strong winds and possible snowfall overnight.

Minimum lows will drop down to 7° Celsius inland, 9 along the coast, while it will be 4 degrees at the highest elevations where frost is expected to form overnight.

Thursday will be cloudy with periods of increasing clouds while Friday and Saturday skies will range between partly cloudy and cloudy with chances of rain and isolated thunderstorms, starting after noon Friday with a slight drop in temperature as well.
